Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This page is maintained by Afri CNAM to answer common privacy and data security questions. It does not constitute legal advice or an independent certification.

1. Who we are

Afri CNAM is a technology platform dedicated to digitizing Universal Health Coverage for African governments. We design, deploy and operate the digital infrastructure that connects citizens, healthcare professionals and national administrations.

2. Data we collect

We only collect data necessary for the platform to function: identifiers and contact details of authorized users, health data submitted through national programs by authorized government partners, and technical connection data and security logs.

Citizens' health data is processed under the responsibility of the national health authorities. Afri CNAM acts as a technical processor in compliance with local legal frameworks.

3. Purposes of processing

Data is used to provide and improve platform services, ensure transaction and access security, detect and prevent fraud, produce aggregated epidemiological and budgetary statistics for governments, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Data recipients

Data is only accessible to authorized staff of the relevant Ministries of Health and national insurance funds, to authorized healthcare providers in the course of their duties, and to technical subcontractors strictly necessary for hosting and platform maintenance. No personal data is sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

5. Retention period

Data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and in accordance with the local legal obligations in force in each country of deployment. Technical connection logs are retained for a maximum of twelve months.

6. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data: end-to-end encryption of transmissions, sovereign hosting within the national territory of the relevant country, strict access controls, regular security audits and business continuity plans.

Security is a shared responsibility: the host government defines access and classification policies, while Afri CNAM ensures the technical implementation of these policies.

7. Your rights

In accordance with applicable data protection laws, you have the right to access, rectify, restrict and delete your data. For insured citizens, these requests should be addressed to the competent national health authority (Ministry of Health or national insurance fund). For platform users, you may contact our team at the address below.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

The public website only uses cookies strictly necessary for technical operation (language preferences, browsing session). No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are placed without explicit consent.

9. Policy changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our platform or the legal framework. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
